Position Overview
As Project Architect, you'll lead projects from inception through to completion, managing stages 0 to 7 across a diverse portfolio including heritage refurbishment, commercial developments, civic buildings and high-end residential schemes.
You'll work on projects ranging from small to large scale, taking responsibility for design quality, technical delivery and producing comprehensive stage 4 packages. Your role will be central to the studio's growth, working closely with the leadership team and contributing to the practice's expanding reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead architectural projects across all RIBA stages, from initial concept through to completion
Develop and produce detailed stage 4 design packages with strong attention to detail
Manage heritage and refurbishment projects, applying specialist knowledge to sensitive contexts
Collaborate with external MEP and fire engineers to integrate building services and compliance
Contribute to design development across commercial, civic, residential and cultural projects
Support the studio's growth by mentoring junior team members as the practice scales
Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions
Requirements
ARB Registered Architect
Revit Proficient
Minimum 2 years post Part 3 experience in UK architectural practice
Proven experience across all RIBA project stages with strong technical delivery skills
Experience with heritage projects, refurbishment or conservation work (ideally)
Commercial and civic project experience beneficial
Strong design sensibility with eye for detail and quality outcomes
Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation and design packages
Team player with collaborative approach to working within a small studio
Excellent communication skills with clients, consultants and internal team
